Where Are Yesterday's New York Lottery Winners?

If you don't see a New York Lottery winner, does he exist?

I have often wondered about all the lottery winners you hear about. Where do they exactly live? It almost seems as if they disappear from the face of the planet once they receive their checks from the New York State Lottery. Perhaps countries like Aruba, Jamaica, and the Bahamas gain a new citizen everytime a lucky New Yorker strikes it rich with the lottery. I sure hope that these lottery winners aren't heard from for other more notorious reasons. Maybe they become so paranoid that they simply disappear from the public eye behind the immense walls of their Hampton mansions, or maybe they just quickly squander their money leaving them as they were prior to purchasing that lucky Powerball ticket?

While some would argue that winning the lottery, and then spending all your money quickly seems fruitless, I wouldn't mind the opportunity to spend away a few million dollars.

Lottery New York: Are You Ready To Win The Lottery?

The lottery system in New York is comprised of state run chance games, such as the well known weekly and daily drawings and instant scratch off paper cards you see for sale at almost every newspaper corner store in Manhattan, the other boroughs, and throughout the state. Tickets are sold through agents licensed by the state. Official retailers include bodegas, chain supermarkets, discount variety stores, and newstands. Prizes of up to $600 can be claimed at any authorized dealer for small amounts won through scratch off tickets, or at customer service centers listed online While many people dislike games of chance, many people approach them as a fun pastime, with an often hoped for attainment of wealth through a blessing of luck, and perhaps an ounce of skill. As the well known announcer has said countless times, all it takes is a dollar and a dream.

The following games are availbale in NYS, and are open to legal aged residents and visitors.

Mega Millions: Each ticket costs $1 and gives the ticket buyer a daily opportunity to conquer the jackpot. For an additional $1 a player can purchase a multiplier provided that she has the winning sequence. Although the prize is usually less than the Powerball, you can still fill the garage of your new house with your choice of Ferraris.

Powerball: Tickets for this multi-state lottery cost $1. Although the odds are larger than in the Mega Millions game, the stakes are higher since the jackpot is fed through lottery buyers from many states. I always wondered what the winners do with all their money, hopefully they don't spend it all on more tickets.

Lotto: Wednesday and Saturday evenings, 6 winning numbers and an extra digit sequence are randomly drawn from 59 numbered balls from an automated lottery machine. 5 possible prizes make this an enticing lottery.

Sweet Million: Game results take place on Monday and Thursday at 9:30 p.m. Winning numbers are derived by chance from a field of 40.

Match 6 of 6 numbers and your prize is an impressive sounding million dollars, which while it is not enough to stop working for good, it sure is enough for a few nice world trips and a brand new set of clothes. Or you can be more prudent and save it for a comfortable retirement.
Match 5 of 6 numbers and you will win a decent $500.
Match 4 of 6 numbers and you will have $40 for gas.
Match 3 of 6 numbers and you will gain $3 to tip your waiter.

I haven't covered the countless versions of scratch off games, like the ones that you give you money right there and then before you leave the store, or those that can keep paying you throughout your life.

I personally feel that if you already going to dream, then shoot for the stars and dream big. Hey, if you're going to get lucky, you might as well get really lucky.

And one last thing, remember that the lottery is a form of gambling, so if you suspect you are addicted, seek help immediately.
